>[Stardom] Syuri's tearful decision to make a comeback and recapture the IWGP women's title: "As a professional wrestler, I want to shine"
>Syuri (35), known as the "woman with something different" from the women's professional wrestling company Stardom, has revealed her strong determination to make a comeback.
>It has been decided that she will take part in Sareee's independent event "Sareee-ISM Chapter VII" (March 10th, Shinjuku Face, Tokyo). Since the Diana Yokohama event on July 10th, 2011, Syuri will be facing Sareee in a singles match for the first time in 13 years and 8 months. She said, "The last time we fought, Saree had just debuted, so I think this is my first singles match. I think we've both experienced a lot in the last 13 and a half years, so I want to clash with that. I will win and prove that I'm the strongest."
>In December 2021, Syuri won the Stardom World Championship for the first time and defended it for a year. She was the first to receive the long-awaited 2022 Women's Pro Wrestling Grand Prize at the Pro Wrestling Grand Prix. In January 2024, she challenged IWGP Women's Champion Mayu Iwatani, but was defeated and was unable to take the title. After that, she left the singles championship scene and focused on improving the unit as the leader of God's Eye. Looking back on last year, Syuri said, "I was really disappointed that I lost to Iwatani. At that time, Stardom was splitting up, and it was a difficult time for the group, so I looked at the whole picture and told myself that I should take a step back and teach my juniors. But at the same time, I thought that I might just fade away..." she said, shedding tears.
>Her desire to bounce back and erase the disappointment of last year is extraordinary. "As a professional wrestler, I want to shine. I didn't achieve any results last year, so this year I want to wear that belt (IWGP Women's Championship) and show people that I'm amazing."
