the ending to their KotR match always bothered me. hogan got to the ropes but the ref didn't break the ankle lock. hogan's even yelling about it.
they finally explained it after 20 years as wanting to give Hogan an out to continue their storyline in to a rematch, but that never materialized. it took two decades for someone to finally acknowledge the ending and it was Angle in an interview.
people never really talk about this when they talk about Hogan/Angle. There's an asterisks next to Angle's win.
