Because of how hot Noah was at the time and the morbid curiosity regarding NJPW's dark period there is a lot more focus on those two promotions so it is hard to find a lot of archives of AJPW at the time. There is also the issue of how fucked up the situation was with AJPW's broadcast rights. They were jumping from broadcaster to broadcaster so the rights to specific periods are all over the place making it very hard for someone to try and track down a specific point in the Puro Resu Love era and follow the story. AJPW is trying to rectify that with their Battle Library program, but they don't exactly have the budget to buy back rights to their footage all at once, so we are stuck with this piecemeal process.
I would love to watch Kojima's slow rise to Triple Crown and his dethronement of Kawada as the Ace of AJPW but at best I can just find shows here or there. Your best bet to follow AJPW during this era is by tracking down their cross promotional shows with NJPW. This period of NJPW was where Nakamura and Tanahashi really built their names and reputations. Nakamura and Tanahashi had not been smartened up to the worked shoot doctor stoppage finish and so Kojima's provocative post-match promo drove young Nakamura into such a rage he ended up shooting on Kojima with Tanahashi backing him up. This shoot establishing the two of them as the young defenders of the Lion Mark and so the build up to this match and the fallout are very well documented.
