I've played every kind of wrestling game, and the peak for gameplay is SvR and even then it was reversal spam like crazy, I remember matches taking forever because we were so good at reversal. it was snappy and repetitive, with fast animations that were hand keyed by Japanese people
nowadays the moves are all mocapped by LA Knight and shit, it doesn't quite have the same punch
but in reality, with all things considered, the newest games are actually pretty damn good overall
