nwo edition isn't worth. i got it but unless you want some wcw arenas and eric bischoff i don't recommend.
no one plays the card system (myfaction) because there's no online so nothing to grind for.
i compare it to 2k14 as the best game but they have very different strengths and weaknesses. 2k14 was a lot more arcade fun with table shit flying everywhere and quicker moves. 2k22 is more realistic in terms of gameplay and the flow of matches. it has arguably the greatest customization of any wrestling game ever with the ability to import images and how many pieces there are to choose from. even if you dont want to fuck around with that, there's community creations that has literally any wrestler you can think of. i downloaded the entire smackdown '02 roster and arena to recreate old matches and it feels like you're playing the old games with an enhanced look. plus the graphics of 2k22 are actually amazing (pic related). the grappling and combo system allows for cool ass shit in terms of executing moves that actually fit the build/style of your guy. a guy like bret hart would do more technical stuff like armbars while rey mysterio would flying headscissors you across the ring.
it took me a little bit to get into the game but it's been my most played title this year. plus the online allows for so much replay value. i've spent entire days just playing around with match types and making people rage over the mic.
all in all, i recommend it highly if you enjoy wrestling past or present
