As much as I like to dab on the schizo console warrior guy, I genuinely don't see the angle with the Jungle Boy thing. Coming from someone who watches AEW reluctantly because of peer pressure from his friends, Jungle Boy just proved that he doesn't have the goods to carry or even participate in a main event level feud.
He doesn't have the charisma, the promos, and he's severely lacking on in-ring polish.
Now, I know SANADA has an extremely low profile in the west as a performer and is nowhere near the marquee name of an Okada or a Tanahashi but to put him against what is basically an overpushed junior heavyweight is a bizarre choice, one that seems so out of step with reality that it makes me think SANADA must've asked for him specifically or something.
If this is a Gedo and TK move, I can't fathom their thinking at all. I understand TK wants to push his "Pillars" shit but none of those guys are ready for main events other than MJF (Darby could main event Jr stuff, I suppose).
Luckily, the rest of the card is shaping up to be really good and Danielson vs. Okada is at least a legit dream match that I'm happy is happening.
