The representative of New Korea Pro-Wrestling (NKPWA) has issued an official statement refuting Marika Kobashi's allegations regarding mishandling her injury and that she was told "there are no ambulances in Korea".
Marika Kobashi's tweet regarding the incident has gone viral on social media and has garnered attention from anti-Korean Japanese pundits.
A quick run down of NKPWA's statement.
According to the statement, Marika Kobashi did not request an ambulance.
The promotion explains that they refrained from transporting Marika to the hospital themselves due to concerns that moving an injured patient could pose risks.
The official says that he had no direct contact because he was busy, but that other officials tended to Marika.
>I needed to tidy up the scene at the same time, so I saw off the customer to the station by the pick-up car. Meanwhile, other players continued to support Marika-san beside her, and about 20-30 minutes later, an ambulance arrived. The two people, one being the executive of New Korea Pro Wrestling and the other a player who speaks Japanese and Korean, rode in the ambulance. At the hospital, Marika underwent two CT scans and was discharged based on the doctor's evaluation, with all medical expenses covered by New Korea Pro Wrestling. She was permitted to fly home right after the match on doctor's orders.
The organization ensured Marika's safe transportation from the hospital to the hotel and provided meals.
The organization expressed disappointment over the misinformation and emphasizes its commitment to Japanese-Korean exchange.
>We are very sorry for the accident of Marika, who was very nice and was expected to play an active role in the future. However, there is some information that is not true, and I do not want it to cause a rift in the exchange between Japan and South Korea. The organization wished Marika a speedy recovery and health.
