People didn't start talking shit about Hogan until he had been surpassed by Austin and Rock.
The Rock is STILL the biggest name in the business today, so a lot of people won't say anything bad about him in the hopes that he'll throw them some crumbs, or will mention them and elevate their fame, etc, etc.
Same reason nobody talked shit about Hogan for 20 years until he was off the top.
People will have plenty to say about The Rock once he's surpassed or dies.
