This is the most overhated match in history. The visual and aesthetic was kino, and it showcased a monster so unlike anything in WWE before that the only way to defeat him was to break the unwritten rules and actually try to kill the man underneath.
It was going to be a paradigm shift, a shake-up of the basic power structure of WWE. It put Fiend over as a uniquely unbeatable monster and Seth as a gritty, fearless babyface.
The only thing they did wrong was listening to whining smarks and changing their plans to appease them. This could’ve been this generations Mankind/Taker HIAC but wrestling fans are so stubborn and hostile to creativity that they rejected it outright.
