The delusional (and usually fat and/or hideous) AEW fan is almost surpassing women’s wrestling fan as the most pathetic creature in what’s left of this genre.
NXT attendance and network views started dying in 2016 (factual from their average attendance numbers in the SEC reporting). Paul wasn’t developing anyone and despite Vince’s wallet being open to Indy stars, even those call-ups didn’t translate to ratings. Just appealed to an aging niche audience.
Conceptually it was supposed to be developmental, but Paul is a high school educated ogre who saw the rise of Bullet Club/PWG and wanted to capitalize. NXT was doing AEW years prior and saw it would end up being a fail long term.
AEW’s ratings on both shows have declined dramatically since the debut. Raw and even Nitro saw gigantic leaps within the first four years. Their audience has gotten older, more money is coming out of big Khan’s pocket.
I don’t think Tony scares anyone in WWE (if you notice, AEW’s promos are constantly punching up at WWE), but he certainly helped a few guys get richer with Vince having to pay out bigger dollars. Cody is happy I’m sure.
Stop being fat, stop being dumb, get a chin. I don’t even think that would help most of you at this point.
