I unironically think Punk gets too much of a bad wrap for this stuff. The WWE locker room back then was notorious for being full of cunty boomers who tried to bully people and had tons of retarded rules. CM Punk is outspoken to a fault and was one of the only people who would say things back to them.
In AEW its a bit more grey but I'm starting to believe that The Young Bucks really are gossiping little bitches who love to stir shit up like teenage girls, so he was probably in the right there too.
