Artists tend to be really ego centric and don't want to do "work for free" and then they constantly bitch out art block. To gain a following you have to post regular content anyway, you might as well make that content stuff people actively want to exist. And you can pick and choose what requests you draw. And people also get bent out of shape when their work is reposted, but please repost my work to the furthest corners of the internet. I would prefer if you didn't cut my Handel out of the image though. But even then, the comments if people like the work are going to be "sauce" or "who's the artist?" And you'll be directed to me anyway. Even if you're claiming my work as your own, people are going to call you on it and your going to create controversy. Controversy is attention, and all that attention on you is going to be directed back towards me.
And all the people who find your art this way would have likely never even heard of you if they didn't.
And I get more than anyone that getting good takes a lot of hard work and that work is worth something. But no one's going to pay you to draw if they don't know who you are and if you even exist.
