However when it comes to New Japan having American Partnerships: AEW should be sending their younger guys over there. Let them get some in ring experience instead of working with each other on youtube once a month.
From the Japanese perspective it made sense in the 80s and 90s. White people were a novelty and they had a show call World Pro Wrestling that showed squash matches from NWA affiliates, so before guys like the Road Warriors had even shown up the fans had already seen them murder people. But now... does AEW even have TV in Japan? If they do I can't imagine their fanbase is chomping at the bit to see all their old curtain jerkers again, or for AEW originals like Sonny Kiss to take on Okada. Maybe it will help them get exposure in the US market, but as long as AEW is around they're never going to make real money in America. At least when they were partnered with TNA they had access to former WWE stars, and not their developmental flunkies.
