In the wrestling community, there is a love/hate relationship with the movie. On one hand, it's obviously well shot and directed, and the performances are great. But it's kinda doom bait with a wrestling theme. Yes, it's true that a lot of wrestlers didn't have the best career after their peak or really got chewed up and spat out by the business. But there are also a lot of successful old wrestlers, some that can still perform at a decent level. It's the ones that dont save their money or live like rock stars that really fail at life and try to make some bucks in the nostalgia circuit.
Vince McMahon hated it, though.
