>>14733470Yeah, no shit. I don't get what your point is. Management was high on him, and booked him like shit. Like, those things aren't mutually exclusive.
Every booker in history has pushed a guy that didn't click with the fans, at least at first, because they knew or were at least convinced of the guy's talent. Vince, in this case, was more stubborn than most. But WWE was still making record profits, even if the show was dogshit and probably could've been drawing more. So you'd be hard pressed to convince him otherwise. And none of that is Roman's fault, by the way, nor an indictment of his abilities.
And again, we're talking about a booker who did the exact same thing over and over. He took Nash, who was very much over, and then booked him to be the exact cookie-cutter babyface in a way that didn't suit him and it failed miserably. Considering Nash was over before and after, it's safe to say Nash wasn't some dogshit wrestler. Same thing with Cena, who was over as fuck with an edgy character, but was reduced to the vanilla babyface schtick. None of these guys were meant to be that. He changed what got them over. Roman was the silent badass of the Shield and always got massive reactions before that. And looking at his work now, is again massively over. The mental gymnastics on here to act like he's shit, or to hate him because management didn't want to cut him loose is crazy. As if it's fault.
