No Mercy is the better game by far, it strikes the perfect balance between being arcady while still resembling a wrestling match with back and forth action and heat segments with reversals and finishers being tied to your momentum gauge. Smackdown on the other hand is really fun to dick about on and set up spots, but it's the flippy indie shit of wrestling, there is no selling whatsoever, you can miss a dive off the top of the area and you get up in two seconds like nothing happened and you have to play it with an honor system since you can pin people in a couple of minutes you have to force yourself to let the match continue to have a decent match.
