WWE's value depends on shopping out rights fees, for a content provider this doesn't actually make sense to purchase.
Every time a content provider purchased a wrestling company it failed because their employees have no actual incentive to make it work because they have guaranteed jobs.
I expect a holding company or something like it to purchase them, similar to Endeavor and UFC. There is literally thousands of wealthy holding firms like Endeavor out there.
Rock or not, one of them could easily swoop in, but if Rock is involved they will swarm in to fund him.
Running WWE is also the only way Rock can make more money than he's making now.
I have been saying this for forever now, it's by far the most likely outcome.
