Following the great success of Clash at the Castle last September, WWE is bringing Money in the Bank to the UK this year, Sportsmail can reveal.
WWE's premium live event - or pay-per-view in other words - will go down on Saturday July 1 at The O2 in London. It's believed the resounding success Clash at the Castle, which drew 62,296 fans to the Principality Stadium in Wales, was the catalyst for this move.
Clash at the Castle signalled WWE's first stadium show in the UK since the legendary SummerSlam in 1992, and the event broke all kinds of records. including becoming the most-watched international premium live event in WWE history, the largest European gate ever and the best-selling merchandise for a non-WrestleMania event.
Triple H, a former 14-time world champion who is now the company's Chief Creative Officer, declared he wanted to run more international events in 2023 in the wake of Clash at the Castle. A return to the UK is the first blockbuster move.
