What tends to happen is these guys want to go into the NFL cause there's more money to be made, so they grind and work hard in college, and when that doesn't pan out, WWE becomes something to fall back on. That's what happened even with The Rock....
With that said, I prefer this than marks who get into wrestling without having the charisma, athleticism, or drive to even try to be good at it. Lots of indie wrestlers fit into this mold with very few exceptions.
