>>15560014Randy only appears in posters in the background and vague mentions that elude to something that happened but never clarified, his faith in the first movie is inconsequential as it's about 'man must be/do what man must be/do' philosophy.
Instead we follow his slightly older fan Donovan, now budding star himself just on the verge of breaking into the big leagues. Donovan dreams of becoming a star like Randy, he's met him but never worked with him. A wrestling prodigy and liked by his peers, his career is bright ahead of him when he signs on to the biggest promotion.
But he slowly starts to realize that the childhood dream he's worked for has a cost on family life, health and sanity with the ever increasing demands of contractual obligations, touring pace, pack stage politics and depravity of being molested by the promotor to land a championship run. How far is he willing to go, is there a Donovan left there or is he just his character on stage?
