>[Stardom] Sareee Declares Her Determination for IWGP Women's Title Match Against Mayu Iwatani: "I will create a new legend".
>Former WWE female pro wrestler Sareee (28) is determined to fight for the IWGP Women's Title against champion Mayu Iwatani (31). The title match will surely take place at the Stardom show on the 27th, which will be held as the opening ceremony of Yokohama BUNTAI, the reopening of the Yokohama Bunka Gymnasium. Sareee, who inherits the fighting spirit of Antonio Inoki and Tatsumi Fujinami, will create a new legend in the place where the deadly battle between Inoki and Fujinami is still talked about.
>Sareee, who had long expressed interest in the IWGP Women's Title, announced her challenge to champion Iwatani on March 9 in Yokohama, her first appearance at Stardom. We are the only two women who debuted in 2011 and are still wrestling today," she said. I am looking forward to fighting Mayu Iwatani at a big venue like Yokohama BUNTAI. I am confident that I can make that belt even more exciting.
>She was scheduled to challenge Iwatani, the world champion at the time, in February 2020, but the title fight was cancelled due to her acute intestinal infection. This would be her second fight with Iwatani since her own show in December 2019. She recalled that time, "There were a lot of my peers, but we didn't stand out at all. I thought we were the same people who had worked our way up through the ranks. So when we fought for the first time, it was a lot of fun, and I thought I had found a good rival," she recalls.
>However, she feels that the current state of the champions is not enough. Mayu Iwatani is not very greedy. After wrestling for this long, I think, 'What's the point of wrestling? I hate wrestlers who don't have greed. Was the IWGP Women's Title ever exciting to begin with?
