This was the most fun era of rasslin' vidya games for me. Awesome graphics (for the time), cool little rock riffs & energetic music, colorful stages, & a massive roster. It was PERFECT for that late 90s Gratitude Era/Funday Night Wars. When WCW & ECW folded, the games afterwards kind of fell off in the mainstream/limelight & just became more niche for die-hard wrestling/WWE fans. I'm not saying there haven't been any decent (or even good) wrestling games since then, but the combination of mainstream hype, kids at the playground in '98 debating & going CRAZY over which one was better (Revenge or War Zone), rocking the shirts at school, doing the D-X chop in class & getting in trouble for it, and of course, constantly watching & following the product vehemently week after week between both WWF & WCW. It was a high point in culture that will probably never come back ever again.
