>>5552663>the Sheamus shit The blowoff to that match was a cinematic match: a bar fight. Filled with cuts and edits to protect Hardy.
Everyone bitched and moaned that he was putting over Elias and Jinder in the spring of 2021 in pre taped matches. WWE was just started to tease Jeff's last big solo run by moving him to Smackdown. He was the last Survivor for Team Smackdown at the Survivor Series. Had he not quit, he probably would have gotten the chance to work Roman at Royal Rumble instead of Rollins and the awkward "heel vs heel, Raw vs SD" build they came up with.
He's as washed as Matt physically. Asking him to do big spots is just risking him getting hooked on painkillers again,
Matt knows his days are really REALLY numbered. Broken Matt was a bust outside of TNA, both WWE and AEW botched it. No one cares about "Big Money Matt" or any of his other solo gimmicks.
One last tag run with Jeff is his last big payday.
WWE doesn't want Matt
ROH is out of business
AEW will pay better than Impact
so AEW is where it will happen
but to be honest they're going to make more money working dream matches on the indies: Matt & Jeff are working Enzo & Cass, and Ryder and Hawkins on indie shows.
There's still matches with the Briscoes and the RnR Express (who are going on their own retirement tour) to still happen.
