>KENTA's title reign:
>V1
Retained against Morishima in a rematch, that's all
>V2
After shitting on the past generation, Akiyama reminded him that he's still in good shape and challenged him. KENTA won anyways.
>V3
In the road to "All Together", Shinsuke Nakamura kept cutting promos about how NOAH is inferior to NJPW, which ended up in a GHC Heavyweight match with KENTA. He retained and made Nakamura shut the fuck up.
>Title Change
KENTA said he was looking for a real challenge in his last title defence before Great Voyage where old rival Marufuji was waiting. Someone came to answer his open challenge, it was Kurt Angle! Prideful, KENTA didn't want to admit he was actually worried of Angle, and Kurt took advantage of this. After a few rookie mistakes, Angle reversed a GTS into an Ankle Lock, the champion rolled out of it sending Angle against the ropes, waited for him to come back, but got surprised by a quick Angle Slam and the 1-2-3. Just one defence away from the main event of Great Voyage, KENTA loses the title in surprising fashion.
>Main Event of Great Voyage
The entire last half of the year it was built around KENTA vs Marufuji, but at the very last moment, Angle broke his way in and costed KENTA the main event. Marufuji as the Global League winner proved his worth. This was just some sort of dream match. Marufuji wins and is the new champion.
