It wasn't like the footage managed to make Punk look terrible/violent/a liar. It was quite obvious that Tony was gotten to by Punk's comments on Helwani's show and thought 'haha im gonna air the footage, this will totally ruin him!' and it ended up just being pretty lame desu. It showed that Tony was willing to drag himself and his product down to retort to such comments instead of focusing on just making a good show. Hell, it made Punk look bigger than the company.
It popped a rating for a week or two, but fucking cratered them afterwards for a while. It did add a bit of heat and intrigue to Perry's return, but ultimately wasn't necessary.
Also where the fuck is Perry now? Injured, on ROH where nobody watches, or just had time off and should return pretty soon now that the Bucks are back?
