In a sense, this gave him a more permanent spot because while 'guys' always came and went (Stone Cold, Rock, Cena, Roman), the 'anti-guy' was always there in a dominant position. Arguably, if not for his heart condition, he'd still be there, but even when not wrestling, he STILL is in a prominent place in the business.
Top guys are only on-top for a minimal amount of time. They eventually fizzle out, tire out earlier because naturally they gotta do more matches, and are forced to retire. But Triple H has been there since his debut, and really never stopped. All things considered, Paul played the game extremely well.
