The smarks hated it because “overbooked” or whatever, but this is what the normal fans want. The crowd was going wild. Believe it or not, most enjoy a satisfying resolution to their stories. Not every fucking story needs Rian Johnson subverting your expectations. How did that work out of Star Wars?
There are certainly times you could have booked this with Gunther going over, but again modern WWE had no buildup. This wasn’t finishing any story except cutting the legs out from under the already shitty Cena victory lap. People just wanted to see him ride off into the sunset. After the shitty heel turn and all the fumbles this year, surely they can just let him take his W and say thank you, right? Wrong.
People who liked last night are either too far up their own asses or long time Cena haters. They didn’t gain any new fans last night. All they got were a whole new batch of people who will proclaim that triple nose has lost the plot and is a shit booker. And I’m one of them.
