There was a decent indie scene with the likes of Progress and ICW. The main problem came when World of Sport got a deal on one of the main TV channels over here. Triple nose shit his pants, so waved a bunch of money at all the marks in the UK indies to set up NXT UK to try and kill it. This turned out to be a pointless exercise, as the World of Sport show was complete and utter shit, and lasted about 6 episodes. So once that was dead, cunter was left with a promotion he didn't need, which is why it coasted along for about 5 years doing absolutely nothing, with no one watching it, before it was killed off. The funny thing was though, you had all the marks at the time like Trent Severn saying how nxt wouldn't kill UK indie wrestling, and how it was a good thing, and now they're all unemployed lmao.
