>[STARDOM] Konami declares her intention to "restore" the Wonder Championship: "Some strange person brought it up, and it lost its value and strength."
>Konami (29), a member of the evil group HATE, who was crowned the first Wonder Champion of the women's professional wrestling organization Stardom, has revealed her determination as a champion.
>On the 3rd, at the Ota Ward tournament, Konami defeated her arch rival Starlight Kid to finally capture the title she had longed for. The next day, Konami spoke to an interviewer and said, "There are many single belts in the world of pro wrestling, but I always thought that my first belt would be the white one (Wonder Championship). I had no intention of crying when I got the belt. There were many people crying in Stardom, so I thought, 'If you're going to cry, then work hard.' But it was the first time I'd ever held a (single) belt in the 10 years since my debut, so before I knew it, tears were flowing."
>It was her seventh attempt since challenging then-champion Kairi Hojo (now Kairi Sane in WWE) in March 2017, and she finally won the title. Konami, who wanted to restore the value of the Wonder Championship to the era when it was held by Kairi, whom she admired as a young wrestler, Io Shirai (now Iyo Sky in WWE), and Mayu Iwatani, said, "When I was a junior wrestler, it was a belt that everyone in Stardom dreamed of. But when Arisa Hoshiki held it, I thought, 'Who is this girl?', and Giulia was good, but strange people like (Mina) Shirakawa started bringing it out, and I thought the value and strength of the white belt had been lost. I want to return it to the way it was in the past, a belt that symbolizes strength on a par with the red belt (World Championship)."
