>>7175274Anime is rarely made 'By committee' like western IPs. The story is the product of the creator, who is often a singular force with a few assistants. Editors stay in their lane, correcting errors and advising when the story may suffer backlash due to content. Marketing stays in it's lane, monetizing the product to the best of their ability. But by and large, Marketing guys aren't going to the creator and telling him he has to add more waifus to the show so they can more figures for coomsumers. Editors aren't telling creators the cast needs to be more diverse and have more brand appeal. Everyone stays in their fucking lane and most importantly, the creator is allowed to fucking create, to shape his world and story how he likes with relatively little fuckery. This has been confirmed over, and over, and over, and the shows that are 'made in committee' are often soulless drivel that is never watched or remembered. How do you think shows like Evangelion and Paranoia Agent even got made? You think marketing guys were like 'yes, this is the safe, surefire product we wanted to shill out to the kiddies'. Are you fucking stupid?
