>>12629420Amazes me how HHH's shitty flipper booking of NXT manlets, and booking Roman as an even more drawn out parody of his own Reign of Terror, has made so many people revise their opinion of him. Dude has used Meltzer & co to cultivate VDS for over a decade now when the fact is he's been the real cause of most shit things in WWE since 2002.
>>12629627>'striking while the iron's hot'It was this and they had to, WCW would have been worthless as an invasion by the time they had Scott Steiner and Goldberg coming in, it'd have been a nostalgia angle not the Invasion.
They definitely should have spaced it out more though Make Kanyon the Undertaker's stalker instead of DDP, have DDP go after The Rock, have Booker T go after Austin, or even let Stevie Ray come over so you can do Harlem Heat vs Dudleys/Hardys/E&C. They needed basically 1-2 more top guys to draw it out enough for Flair and the nWo's arrival in late 01-early 02 and from there it starts to book itself.
They tried to take cues from how the nWo was booked and some of it worked- Booker T & Lance Storm's run ins, Austin playing the Hogan role defecting, but it needed more stuff like Nash killing Rey Mysterio in the parking lot. Awesome stealing the Hardcore title was a good one, more of that. Keeping ECW a separate third party would also have helped buy time until the bigger names came in.
