The Elite era wasn't exactly a beacon of fantastic booking and shows either. It was only mildly better than the Tony era. You had shit like Cody's weird loser booking of himself that caused the crowd to turn on him, Sonny kiss twerking and doing strip teases on the stage, Matt Hardy teleporting, Brandi running absolutely rampant and flopping at every attempt to get herself over, random Joshis all over the place, Marko Stunt being put in the same league as the likes of Brian Cage and given offense, Jimmy Havok being about, Joey Janela being pushed, Miro's "best man" gimmick, The Dark Order being just a dimeless tag team of Uno and Grayson who were followed around by gimps and their gimmick being "evil gamers" etc.
The only positives were lack of roster bloat, and no Tony new toy syndrome so things were more consistent and the matchups were less schizo, talent wouldn't drop off for weeks on end.
