>>15554083I'm not too different from you Anon, I was on IRC and various Bulletin boards discussing wrestling. All we cared about was who had the cooler catch phrases, video games, t-shirts, etc. People didn't have usernames based on Japanese crap, they had nicknames like TheBestThereIs or Hollywood_Hogan
You're likely right about the AEW/WCW stuff - more WCW stars than people realize were involved heavily behind the scenes as booker, producers, helping with promos, talent relations, etc. So to see Tony Khan rub it in that WCW failed, and knowing AEW is only running because of the infinite money glitch, has to make some of them seethe.
People lost houses/wives/families/more when WCW folded, just for Tony to make WCW a punchline and pretend he's standing on their corpse, not on their shoulders.
>>15554106He signs smark darlings, which is fine; but he pays them like top-level talents instead of rehab projects, which is bad
Talent talk to each other, they talk to agents, agents talk to agents, they're all going to find out sooner or later what everyone else is making. And if you pay them so much they don't feel like doing outside promo, running up their social media, doing outside appearances when they're in-between TV feuds...then they're not fucking going to do it and that means AEW suffers
>Signing to AEW means they can also appear in NJPW, isn't that neat!>Meanwhile, Swerve, Christian, Samoa Joe, MJF, Acclaimed, Miro, Sammy Guevara, House of Black, Hobbs...They need all hands on deck and if big paychecks can't ensure that, then what the actual fuck CAN ensure it?
