What's the current perception of Kevin Nash amongst "smart" fans?
Kevin Nash was never a technical wizard, but he was a huge star. The guy walked out like he owned the building, his aura was off the charts. His slow, smug, sarcastic, too-cool-to-care attitude made him even more over. The NWO wouldn’t have hit the same without him and his sarcastic wit and swagger. Nash was the backbone that made the whole act feel like an actual takeover.
In-ring he was more than servicable and underrated in this aspect, especially when you compare him to guys of his height and weight-class, I mean just look at useless lumps like Matt Morgan, Big John Studd or Giant Gonzalez. He was surprisingly agile and while he had a limited moveset, he knew how to play to his strengths and make everything he did matter. He never wasted a moment, his matches were perfectly placed. Even his awkwardness played into his character and made him look "legit". His psychology also made him stand out, instead of just lazily locking in a rear chin hold, he'd be doing stuff talking shit to the crowd with a smug grin. Plus the Jackknife Powerbomb is one of the hardest finishing moves of all time. He protected his character and was great at comedy without ever coming across as goofy.
This is not an R thread so leave the gay fagfiction at the door and let's discuss the career of a true wrestling icon.
