It probably wasn't even the primary idea of Rock, after all, we know that he legitimately wanted Cody to turn heel.
Now is Cena free of blame? No, I don't think so, Cena is a great worker, and should have found or at least asked others to find a way to salvage the doomed run, for example, they could have had Brock HELP Cena win yesterday (And eventually turn on him later), at least make it so Cena has "plans", it would have been kino too, Cena turning "face" the night before only to work everyone and get the help from tranny enemy #1 Brock Lesnar.
