The difference is, WCW relied on older talent but they actually did awesome stuff with their older talent and did intriguing things with them.
WWE today is just relying off of name value alone. WWE today AREN'T even doing intriguing things with their older talent, they're just relying off of their name, while not doing them justice.

Hogan, Nash, Hall, Scott Steiner, Goldberg, Sting, Luger, Booker T, Stevie Ray, DDP, Savage, Hennig, Norton, Bagwell, Flair, Bret etc. all got Punk, Cody, Orton, AJ Styles, Rollins, Jey, LA Knight, Sami Zayn, Dominik, Dragon Lee, Logan Paul etc washed.
