>>19481781>Vince was right when he said wrestling fans are fickle and have no clue what they want so you just have to pick a path and take them down it.Lmao this is absolutely not true. Vince has shitty booking decisions and refusrd to understand why they were bad. The backlash from this choice is for two reasons: cynicism and marks being marks. The latter is self explanatory, but somehow the cynicism found its way to some of the marks when they started booing near the end.
What H said is right: going out on your back is a tradition in wrestling. Those who don't understand that are completely fucking selfish and manchildren just throwing fits over some washed up yes man tapping out.
The former is that there's been a slow burn of anti-propaganda against H, which has been ramping up ever since Mania 41. The situation with Rock at Summerslam and Travis Scott, smarks online started complaining even more than ever with how WWE's booking had been. And let's not get it twisted: asides from tonight, a MAJORITY of the booking for WWE has been garbage this past year. Iyo and Rhea queerbaiting, Rhea still shoved down your throats, Kairi and Asuka doing some cringey heel work, Giulia being utterly fucking buried in a dogshit title change match, LA Knight being passed over left and right, the swerve of Seth faking his injury only for it to be a shoot situation a few months later and causing a hard pivot no one in The Vision was ready for, Otis' fumbling, Dom being a meme heel, R-Truth instantly reverting to Coon-Truth when he got hired back, Cena's entire retirement run, I could go on and on... it comes to a point where the smarks became marks for their own cynicism and way of thinking that they just bash any change they don't like, even ones that seem "sensible". For example: Ilja winning the US title upon return. Stuff like this happened many times in wrestling where a returner gets a belt...
