>>18675577Punk was different from the others, young, and had natural charisma. PG era was abysmal, but I think some forget that the Ruthless Aggression era had dipped by 2005 and just wasn't as interesting. ECW One Night Stand was great and the prospect of an ECW revival the following year was good. I love RVD and his WWE title win over Cena in ONS '06 remains one of my favorite matches to this day. But WWECW was kind of a mess and before it could even find its feet, RVD was gone and Big Show had the belt. Punk was the bright spot in the show and I think if Heyman had been left in charge and got more freedom, WWECW could have been a good alternative. But of course DD Steph (head of creative, a position she never earned) cut it off due to her disputes with Heyman. I'm sure Cunter was pissed about any buzz ECW and Punk may have been getting at the time, since he was over on Raw being reviled for acting like a kid with the cringey DX revival.
