>>10002947When Stephanie is on record talking about how philanthropy is good for business and when they air shit like "Eddie's in hell" or Mark Henry trying to rape Chyna in the ring for an angle.
The fact that the brand and the family are famous for being ethically terrible has been the reason to watch WWF ever since I was a kid in the 90s. For a lot of people, that is the reason we watch. People always call wrestling a soap opera for men but rather than that this shit absolutely scratches that "Real Bitch Wives of Whatever Fucking Suburb" itch for men and has for decades. WWF always felt adjacent to The Osbournes and MTV or otherwise motocross and unironically extreme sports.
/asp/ loved talking about Total Divas. The perception was that Rusev was the best thing about the show and his likability on there set him up for Rusev Day. The show kept him on life support after Cena beat him. It also kept Bryan relevant in the years when he didn't wrestle. It also set up The Miz and Maryse vs John Cena and Nikki Bella which is one of the greatest feuds of all time.
Talking Smack was hyped up as well. Podcast are popular across a pretty broad spectrum of wrestling fans. This is less soap opera and more tabloid article if you ask me.
