He's right. AEW is toast if Collision can't revitalize it. It's been in the red for its entire existence, the video game is going to be a complete flop, and WBD won't renew it if the ratings keep declining.

Prichard was right. Cornette was good on a local/regional level and still a great mind for wrestling in-terms of booking things purists would enjoy, but outside of that, he has no clue how the business works.

He's called AEW dead for the last three years and if anything they managed to do better than expected despite Tony's stupidity. AEW averages 800-900k right now. That's the highest thing for anything on Turner other than Live Sports and they don't have to pay as much. They're also pre-empted for hockey right now on the west coast.

All in all, while AEW has a ton of things they should worry about, their position is pretty safe on TV . Cornette can't seethe at Russo for only caring about ratings, while sounding the horn every week whenever AEW's are around 800-900. Unlike SMW, AEW doesn't show any signs of closing. And it's not embarrassing like his ROH run where they lost their main revenue source through live-shows, and had a laughably bad television contract. But, him and that fatass will always gloss over Jim's ineptitude at business.

I’ve said from the very beginning: AEW exists solely as a containment project for Tony. If he wasn’t playing wrestling booker, he would be poking around in the families NFL franchise, Premier League team, etc. AEW will exist for as long as it keeps Tony distracted.

It's actually the worst time for that. There's going to be a bunch of Reality TV shit coming up. If you want to get in this type of work (I wouldn't desu, I hate this shit), the easy way right now might be working for a producer in some way shape or form.

There won't be replacements, but whenever it does get resolved they'll be a lot shittier shows (yes worse than now) because companies only want guaranteed hits.

I don't mean to sound arrogant as I have no experience but I spent my whole childhood reading old novels and my teen years all my time off I spent watching the best tv and movies I could find and reading historical stuff, and I'm naturally talented at writing, so I feel like I could easily replace and improve upon most of these shitters going on strike every three years even if forced within the confines of writing tranny/"progressive" bullshit by the writers. And if the showrunners let the female lead pop out a tit or something "for mature and plot significant reasons", then the show could do well. I don't have a problem dumbing everything down and making it simple while leaving a few slightly subtle hints or twists in there for the gay smarks to pick up on and think they must be so clever for noticing le epic special thing, like I did when I was younger.

He doesn't get how it can stay around when it's clearly losing a lot of money, likely because he's never encountered an entity that would be willing to pump so much money into a wrestling promotion without any return. As a business all about working marks, it must seem an immense contradiction that the business owners themselves are the marks.

I was big on AEW at the start, but ever since Punk left I've lost interest. I put the show on DVR and sometimes don't even watch it. Or if I do, it's on in the background.
