The camera falls upon the entrance ramp, newly produced tron footage timing and flashing along with the change in entrance music. Off camera, something makes the audience's noise levels heighten.
Camera feed cuts to the stands as Ash descends the arena stairs, title strapped around her waist and steel chair under her arm. She pauses for a moment, gazing out at the sea of people she emerges from. Hands are held out, shaking, hoping for an acknowledging graze from the champion. A few of them are dapped up as Romero continues to descend towards the ring. As she approaches the barricade, the steel folding chair in her possession is flung over towards ringside, falling against the floor with a loud clatter. The champion swiftly follows, hopping the barricade into the ringside area. She stops and grabs the steel chair before flinging it once more, INTO the ring, with another loud clatter.
She climbs into one of the ring posts and strikes a simple pose for the crowd, arms out and open. After a few moments, she holds her hand out towards ringside, fingers curling in a beckoning gesture. A microphone is put in her grip before she hops down, now inside the ring. The music fades as she picks up the steel chair, once more holding it under her arm. She brings the mic up to her lips.

Couple quick questions from a lurker who thinks this is fucking awesome and is curious about getting into it:

Is this a good time to jump in and throw in with a new character, or is WWA full or do we need time to let things settle after the PWE?

Related to the first question, I don't have the videogame and probably won't be getting it. Even if I did, I'd be utter shit at using it since I haven't played wrestling games in years. I know the matches are CPU vs. CPU, but is this a big road block to getting involved?

If your character gets some popularity and people want to see a match, someone can make a CAW in 2K22 and you'll start getting match sims. Nobody plays the match, it is all the janky AI which leads to absolute kino and some real stinkers, but that is what makes it great.

I am not a fan of heavyweight/superheavyweights doing big flippy springboard moves or jumping like RVD to the top rope. In the same vein, I don't think any LHW/CWs should be doing things like multiple powerbombs.

I am also not a fan of things like Burning Hammers, Stormbreaker or the Destinoooooooo being just regular moves in someone's arsenal. So many people already have Kinshasha, kamigoyes, shooting star (which imo should be a finisher/signature only).

None of this is important, it just bothers me to watch. I don't want to heap shit on anyone in particular, but Zunigoth and Cassie Kade are two examples.

Speaking of movesets, Ash debuted her new finisher in the IC match (Sister Abigail/Bladerunner). I'll edit it in the wiki along with the theme, but I decided to call it "Pikes Peak" as a reference to the famous Hill Climb event.

And not just the world title, that was just the most obvious example. Same goes for the tag and intercontinental. IC got defended outside a PPV not long ago which needs to happen more with the others. Tag wasn't even at the last PPV so surely that's going to be defended before the next one.

This isn't real life. Progression in these threads is rapid. One of these is basically the equivalent of an episode of weekly TV. I'm not saying put them on the line every day. Not even every week. But roughly at least once every fortnight seems fair.

You ever notice how generally the title matches are, if we're being totally honest, nowhere near the hottest feuds going into PPVs? Because everything else is progressing at the usual pace of the threads, while the title scenes are relatively static.

Reason I bring this up is because this thing with Zuni got me thinking. Yes, he's wrong to go for it now, but it would be nice to see Zuni go for it at some point. But when? Whoever challenges next as things stand will have to wait a month minimum. Then he or whoever wants to go next has to hope their girl wins at the PPV, then be in a good spot to challenge. It's just way too slow and not at all in line with the rest of the thread.

My my three cents on titles

The HW title was in fact going to be defended more often than it was. But the end result of Waifus Collide put things in an awkward spot (unluckily, for the first defence) and Omega is not a 'main event of weekly TV' kind of gal.

The HC title is currently defended (more) often, but I like the idea of title matches being built up to and not just handed out. We are going to work out tag team stuff soon (I think MM has an idea for it). ANd the IC title could theoretically be done more often, but runs the risk of being a title that everyone holds, which is both boring and not ideal.

I think the idea of mini events (such as a rookie cup, hardcore tournament, and many others that have been floated) fill the gaps between the PPV defences.

That said, no reason a champ can't be in tag matches and if they get pinned you work something out. I think that champs should be in more situations to set up title matches.

They don't want to be and people are allowed too much control over when they defend titles. A while back when IC champions going inactive was a problem it was suggested they be stripped of the title after not being around for a certain amount of time. I think as a group we should come to a consensus on how often a title should be defended and put guidelines in place that we all have to adhere to instead of people basically picking and choosing when they defend, which with most people just means the bare minimum of PPV only.

Cactus Jane won the title, defended the title (miraculously) and then faced RObyn and somehow came out on top again. Anyone can get a HC win or two under their belt and then challenge for the title. Or do a promo or something. But there's no gatekeeping of that title.
Similar for tag title. No contenders emerged, a different tag feud was getting hot, sot he tag titles stepped aside.

The IC was a bit muddled at first, and there was discussion of stripping them. But that was after weeks of NO activity. If Skelly disappeared with no warning for 10 threads, I'm sure there would be discussion. But I would be annoyed if I was gone for two days due to real life, and came back to see a title was gone from my character mid story.

What I mean is Skelly doesn't want to do anything beyond defend once a month at PPVs. This isn't a real life fed with 1 show a week, it's progressing all the time. But the title scene doesn't, it's completely irrelevant 75% of the time except for the last week before the PPV when it then gets mogged by everything else because those narratives have all been constantly progressing and evolving while anything involving the title has to go on pause to avoid blowing the load early because of the once a month bs.

Well we'll see what happens, but Ash turned something that I initially intended to be a background explanation for Priscilla maintaining her wealth into a story that could be fun to play with, and I think Nikki is just as capable of being the DA representative that challenges Skelly and it would be interesting to see what happens to Priscilla's dynamic with her if she won.

You could always order Nikki to go after her then go after Skelly Skelly yourself. It makes sense for it to be Priscilla, and I think it's what most would have expected for a while now especially after the semi main went DA's way.
The discord is great for organizing instead of doing it in the thread, you should join it. Literally everyone is there except for maybe 2 or 3 regulars including you. It won't mean things can't still be done on the fly.

No chairs. No boxes of corn. Nothing. Everything must've been moved to the BATB arena. Sapphire closes her eyes as she crawls underneath thee ring one more time...
Only to crawl back out the other side. What? Why hadn't it worked this time? Sapphire would lift up the apron she just crawled from. Suddenly, there was a steel chair underneath the ring that hadn't been there before. [What kind of extrademensional witchcraft bullshit was this?] she thought to herself.

Just going to throw out some thoughts and suggestions based on PPV wins and stories:

Cassie Kade and Sheila Foster seem destined to smash.
Jade Thorn with a clusterfuck win, just like Steeli at SiST. Both winners on this show is interesting.
Duna Sands with a big win, evens her up from the loss at SiST. Could be a good IC challenger.
Amy/Sapphire as part of the winning team in the semi-main, and we need tag challengers. Not to mention N.A.T.O. of course.

Need new challengers in all three singles divisions. Priscilla makes sense in HW or IC. Nikki in all three; she does hold a pinfall win over Jane in a tag match.

Big losers from the BATB show: Sola Fire, Violet B, Holly, Rabbit, Onigiri, Shogun, Robyn all with a chance to make a name for themselves if they want.

Some out of character stuff. The honeymoon period after BATB will continue a little longer as we might have a slightly longer delay between premium events than usual. However, don't fear, there will be serious developments and not just slice of life stuff, soon. On the topic of sims, formally requesting a slight upgrade to Red from the absolute jobber tier she is at the moment. I think she's probably found her resolve and resiliency in the recent struggles and would like a boost to make 82 OVR? And maybe a slight moveset change, so if any 2K22 anon could do that, I'd be so grateful.

I think the only issue with increased overalls is apparently as discovered through these threads, they're not in sync, so one person who downloads a caw will see it at say, 75, another may see it as 99 or something. So it's probably best if the match simmers themselves adjust the OVR's to 82 on their ends.

I think this might be something that just happens with the jobbers sometimes because the ratings are insanely low, so maybe the game bugs and puts them at the 75 default. I made Lo Cawder a 31 but someone said she was 75 for them.
But just to confirm, since I made a few other CAWS, can someone else tell me the OVRS they have for Sapphire, Moufette, Cassie, Priscilla and Neith. Those are some I made, if your ratings match mine across that sample then the regular CAWs likely all have the intended overalls.

I have previously had issues with other OVRs. I was the one that had CAMO as a 100 (rip) and more recently the jobbers as 75s.
