That is assuming AEW would have pulled a TNA and used the NWA title as the main title. That would have never happened. AEW is Tony Khans E Fed, he wouldn't have wanted that. He needs to get his own way and not be limited by the NWA restrictions

“Splinters” caused by salty, selfish promoters don’t matter and the WWE Championship is just a United States belt.

this. Awhile back I made an entire thread trying to explain this concept. All of WWE's connections to the original world heavyweight title are illegitimate. only title that has any direct connection to that would be the NWA world title and pretty much nothing else. This chart is just showing all the people who tried to steal that lineage in order to give their own championships more prestige.

All of these "splinter titles" are just titles that were unified with the NWA world title at one time or another. All of them were also de-unified at some point, too. Thus, they are not part of that lineage and cannot claim it. Period.
