The only way to "investigate" this would be to demand that Roman and WWE provide some proof of the diagnosis, and no one is going to stick their necks out and ask that kind of question because it has two results:
A. They weren't lying, they do provide proof and whatever doubter asked for proof is publicly shamed and ruined
B. They don't provide any proof but they and a legion of both knowing and unknowing stooges publicly vilify the person for daring to even ask that, and the person is publicly shamed and ruined
It's a lose/lose scenario to potentially uncover what might barely break into the top 5 PR scandals WWE has had over its existence. So of course no one publicly questions it, even if its stunk for years and continues to stink more and more as time goes on.
