It's really hard to say because the controversial angle is extremely sensitive when it comes to this "sports entetainment" industry.
Could say HHH who has definitely made some controversial moves in the course of his career but hate it or love it he has come out on top unscaved.
Could say Ric Flair, but the majority of his shenanigans out of the ring are simply not as memorable as his in ring promo and overall presence. I mean, he went on record to call Mick Foley a stuntman... but nobody cares.
Could say Bret Hart... But his legendary status is not that big albeit legendary. Also he is more loved than despised despite what people say.
Could say Scott Steiner but he never really reached the super star status.
Could say Tessa Blanchard but she hasn't been wrestling at the top long enough yet.
If anybody takes this thread seriously enough maybe they can provide a clear enough insight to who is the professional wrestler that is "A genius at his craft, controversial with a lasting impact."
