"No word on that woman who released the jaguar into your club either."

This isn't a surprise to Cassie. But whoever Raquel Durango is, she'll surely show herself again, sooner or later. "That's a shame," Cassie says. "I'd like to thank her for gifting me with such an incredible pet, and informing me of my Oregano supplier's thieving ways. That reminds me, set up a meet with him before the night is through. Tell him we need an emergency reup of Oregano."

"Do we?" asks the bodyguard.

Cassie shakes her head. "He stole the product he sold us to maximise his profit margins, and in the process exposed my operation to a misguided attempt at retribution for said theft. He's a liability and liabilities need to be removed. And... ready Miguelito for transport... I want him at the meeting."

Thanks anon, yeah it's pretty fun so far. I decided to ditch Universe and just record individual matches and organize on a spreadsheet. The editing takes a while still, especially all the Jojo Offerman voicelines I have to type phonetically, review, sort, import, boost a few db, arrange, etc etc etc
But having at least one character with actual enthusiasm in her voice is worth it
I don't fix any matches so I've already had to reshuffle some of my plans after #1 due to unexpected wins, and some of the storylines have changed or been delayed or sped up, but that's what keeps it interesting for me, too.

I might change it to every other week after the first few because it does take some time and I still have a lot of new wrestlers to introduce and assets to build, but I think it will get easier once I have more stuff set up. Either way, whether it's weekly or biweekly I have plans to continue at least through December.

Yeah, this week's was easier because I settled for using the WCW Beach arena instead of making my own, and only had to make one new wrestler and just reused the roster from #1 otherwise. Also I made up kayfabe excuses to remove much of the commentary. It still took a while because I put a little effort into having actual promos this week, and I still had to make some simple alt attires for everyone, and the potato AI I'm using for Scissors' flat image could not generate a mohawk to save its life, but still less time-consuming than making custom faces and so on.
The quality of this week's edit is lower than #1 because I spent the weekend making it instead of the whole week, but it's a gimmick episode and so far it seems like you guys don't mind so it shoiuld be fine.

Getting the characters' faces the way you want them in face molding - 20% of the time
Downloading, clipping and inserting custom music for the ones you want it for, and finding the songs to replace - 10% of the time
The rest of the custom stuff, titles, arenas, shows, entrances, victories, movies, etc - 15% of the time
Actually recording the matches - 5% of the time
Generating Stella's lines and fucking around with the uberducktastic pronunciation - 25% of the time
Recording and fucking around with B-roll type stuff for the show - 10% of the time
Time devoted to fucking around making AI images (so far) - 5%
Actually editing, including placing and boosting all of stella's lines - the last 10%

Exporting the final video - An additional five hours or something no joke, this is why I'm posting Monday instead of Sunday this week
Uploading the video - Another hour or so I guess

Just doing a big long 30 minute eight person match this week was super easy since I rarely do any editing of the match itself other than voiceovers, and putting Stella in the match means I can't and don't have to (for now). I just had to pick nice ways for them all to rep the orange and black with their beach outfits while remaining distinct, and pick appropriate bunny ears for everyone.
The promos probably took more time than the matches this week.

Thanks for the encouragement, once the second show gets going I think I'll just alternate weeks between them and that one will be low effort aside from the first few eps and some specials, so that way I have longer to work on each SMASH! without it consuming all my free time

Why did she even get up and get back in the ring when she was on the floor at the nine count, not even halfway into the match? Her spine is on fire. Something is wrong.

The physical pain is not the worst of it. This IS one of the worst beatings Colby has ever taken, and she has a new understanding of why Miss USA is so rightly feared. She forces her battered body to stand, and with every remaining shred of her will, though a part of her soul screams against it, she sculpts her face into a plastic mask of grace and magnanimity. She even smiles as she extends her hand, though her voice cracks as she speaks.

Having completely forgotten about the visitors a dishevelled Amy and Sapphire walk through the mansion wearing nothing but oversized t-shirts, Amy takes Sapphire's hand and playfully pulls her towards the kitchen looking forward to a nice breakfast to replenish their energy levels. Halfway to the kitchen Sapphire stops dead in her tracks causing Amy to almost fall backwards into her.

Sapphire chuckles and mimics the display albeit in a more dignified manner then leads Amy away by the hand before she can get herself into any more trouble.

Amy watches with delight as Priscilla delivers the piledriver to the referee. She knew he'd seen her hand on the rope and she suspected Skelly saw it too but despite her performance against the champion she couldn't be a bystander in this - Priscilla would expect immediate and swift retribution from her subordinate and this time Amy was more than willing to oblige. She knew this would have to be brutal and memorable.

She grabs the referee by the hair and forces him into a standing position, with every last ounce of strength she lifts him up into position for the Burning Hammer. She thinks about her failure in the Hardcore Tournament, being left out of the Rookie Cup, the humiliating one sided defeat to Ash Romero during her quest for the Intercontinental Championship, being the only member of her team eliminated at BATB and now this, another failure, her chance to shine against the World Champion completely ruined. She knows this referee is a single dad to a four year old son, she knows that child relies on his father for everything, but in this moment she doesn't care and drops him viciously and deliberately right onto the top of his head.

As she collapses to her knees she hopes WWA officials take the bait and punish her for the assault instead of Priscilla. She'd promised Skelly that this match would be a one and done and despite not feeling anywhere close to satisfied the result won't change. She knows she's heading straight to the back of the queue, again, but maybe Amy has opened the door enough for Priscilla to kick it in and make her move. Amy grins to herself imaging Priscilla's hands wrapped around Skelly's throat and she hopes she'll be there to watch and laugh as Skelly's reign finally comes to a Divine end.

Thanks. Truth be told I also wanted to encourage Priscilla to view the title almost as a birthright so she’d be more inclined to challenge Skelly for it.
I think right now, from a storyline perspective at least, Priscilla and The Queen are the only two viable contenders for the title and we just had a face/face program.

I thought Onigiri and Shogun smashing shit at Duna Sands' beach house was good, and if Duna went to to crush one or both of them she'd be a contender for the title, and the added interest of Skelly there is fun. Not to mention Onigir and Shogun could be tag contenders, as they declared.

I don't quite know what to think of La Jefa yet, but surely Cassie should be in the conversation for some sort of singles title.

I think Miss USA and Hailey are doing great things to build themselves up in the tag division.

Red Hands has posted a lot and I think gone underappreciated. Not to mention both their characters just got big wins, possible for something in the IC title scene with a few more wins.

The Kumome/Rabbit/Jade storyline is relatively slow for IRL reasons, but going well. Not for titles, necessarily, but good stuff nonetheless.

I don't think any sort of challenge was made, but I know Sheila Foster did something recently.

Not to rush Dunanon, but I too am looking forward to this (and plan on bothering Duna again next post she makes) since I built up to Shogun and Duna having a match during the slow moments of Bishojou. I feel a bit bad considering we just announced the tag team, but since Onigiri challenged Ash I don't think it'd hurt.

Precisely what I was thinking in potentially feuding with her further. Duna dealing with the annoying (in her eyes) friend of someone she actually tolerates could be fun for her, and for me because I love me some Duna.

They do have to fight a bit more, first, considering they technically "lost" their unofficial first tag outing at Bishojou. Of course there's the Angels (this one is a little awkward since Oni and Saph are gonna have a cage match at Onsen, so if they DO get #1 contenders for the belts uh-oh), but personally would love to give Bubblegum Crisis and nu-War Horse some matches too. Definitely wanna make it happen soon.

Unironically stuff on /h/ (and here too of course) between the DA girls leads to character work. Character work leads to matches and reactions to matches. Those things lead to contenders or more angles. No, the lesbian sex does not lead to a title match in and of itself, but I don't think anyone sincerely thinks that.

That's not what I said at all. I said slice of life (visiting japan, giving each other promise rings) doesn't lead to top contenders for wrestling champions.

I am not concern trolling anything, despite it being clear you all want to dismiss any criticism as coming from one person.

There were legitimate concerns that champions were not defending enough. THe way to solve that problem is to have contenders emerge that aren't open challenges (note that I love the idea for Ash and the HC division, but it doesn't work for the top title) and the way to have contenders emerge is by storytelling that leads to wrestling matches.

For those playing at home, I really liked all of the matches today. I played around with some settings and I think the matches were better for it. I can only apologise to those that had the <5 minute matches previously, and I happily accept simming them again if there are issues.
