It was entertaining from start to finish. The booking was great, it felt like there was always something going on. You had the cruiserweights doing their thing in the lower cards. You had dominant champions squashing jabronis, different stables ganging up on people, Goldberg with his streak. NWO fucking everyone up, different storylines intertwined but separate, everything ended in a cliff hanger overtime. The show just kept you tuning in for more week after week.

It was a time period where things weren't too controlled and there wasn't a lunatic micromanaging everything so no one would get over on their own. Granted, said lunatic was a better boss and business savvy but the unfocused nature of Nitro and WCW meant something could happen that you didn't expect, for better or worse.

The inmates ran the asylum but they each came with a unique brand of crazy that made things interesting. It also all took place during a pre-9/11 world and serves as a time capsule of one of the phenomenons of the '90's.

very true, vince's brand of "sports entertainment" was completely trounced by WCW. So they had to make an alliance with ECW and steal their style. Vince followed his usual pattern of cannibalization. Remember all those great characters he had in the 80s? Well Jim Crockett made most of those guys into stars. A few like Hogan and Shawn Michaels came from the AWA.
