You can call it 'creative control' or politicking or whatever but basically it's how guys would make sure they pick if, when, and how they lose and to who, in addition to working programs they want to work. Hulk Hogan is the most (in)famous politicker but at least he drew a shitton of money. HHH is a great politician but never drew a peso, rubel, etc.
Easiest way to get into that position is to make yourself indispensable and then use your influence to stay that way by staying on the top of the card and protecting your losses as much as possible a la Hulkamania era Hogan or 98ish Hogan in WCW.
