Granted maybe I'm forgetting things, but all I remember about Mandy before going back to NXT was a brief feud with Asuka, being less interesting than Otis and Sonya, and then getting stuck in a very brief muscle mommy tag team with Dana Brooke. She's significantly more accomplished and a better performer than Lacey now, but for the time she definitely wasn't being groomed for a top spot.
