>Trish has set the women back and turned them into a sideshow after all the work I did to get the women respected and legitimize them as the superstars that they are.
>Do you really think I literally threw that title in the trash without a plan of longevity and meaning?
>Trish brought in the blueprint that WWE used for decades that had to be UNDONE by the women who were inspired by men and the women that came before her. Trish made room for the Bella Twins and others, but I built a foundation for the 4 Horsewomen.
The hell? It was Sunny and Sable that turned the "divas" into a sideshow dominated by glorified valets and comedy acts. That had gone on for years by the time Trish came along. Whatever work Alundra Blayze had done in WWF was already trashed when Ivory was repeatedly jobbing to Moolah. Trish and Lita (and Molly Holly, who rarely gets enough credit) were at the forefront of moving things back towards actual women's wrestling. They set the stage for Victoria and Mickie and everyone who followed.
Besides, it's kind of hard to blame WWF for going the way they did: it's not like legit women wrestlers were exactly a draw in the '90s. I mean, there's a reason the WCW Championship only lasted a little over a year and was only held by two women, both of them Japanese (for the last six months that it existed, it wasn't even defended: the only match was to crown a new champion after after it had been vacated, and that match happened at a Gaea Japan show, not even a WCW event, let alone a televised one). Madusa herself was "retired" within eighteen months of her infamous debut, only eventually returning after a two year hiatus. So much for her "plan of longevity and meaning."
The fact is that Trish belongs on the Mount Rushmore or women's wrestling, and Madusa will never be anywhere near that, regardless of her actual in-ring ability.
