Everything about him that people liked was slowly stripped away from him. People enjoyed his Jungle gimmick, if he was in WWE he'd be swinging around on vines and riding an animatronic gorilla. I think people had the normal AEW hope in him, and anyone would look good next to his old tag team partner.
Now that he's getting a big solo push, and he keeps making public statements about how much he likes sucking and not wanting to improve, he's been exposed and no one expects him to get better.

it's funny that the purpose of Christian in AEW was supposed to get Jungle Boy over, but all he managed to do was expose JB as a shitter and get himself over as one of the best heels in the company. it's not his fault though, he really tried, its just JB doesn't have it.

Tony so far lacks the type of creativity that Vince has been known for. There are no Khan brand wrestling characters that are all his creation. He gives them freedom which is a blessing and a curse. I think the show could benefit from a more consistent creative director.

Jungle Boy is a lowcard gimmick. Maturing the gimmick into Jungle Boy Jack Perry was the right move if you're to make him a main eventer, but he's too unlikable and too much of a shitter to advance. Turn him heel or relegate him to the TNT and tag division where he belongs.
